When I create my own painted collage materials, I often create multiple works from the same papers. This is the final piece created in the series from all the remaining painted papers. It is an arrangement of color and shape that represents multiple locations along the parkway, marsh and parks of Northern Virginia. For me, these leaves resting on a pale blue background invite me into meditation. For this piece in particular, I thought a wide matte and large frame would echo that meditative invitation. The framing adds margin and breath so that we can breathe a little deeper and meditate a little longer.
